Sister Loganimoce here. Your leaders and I thought this might be a good way to keep you posted on all that is going on with the Young Women's program. We will let you know about upcoming activities, important reminders and information, quotes and talks of interest, and even post up pictures of all of you at our activities. We also hope that you will contribute comments and thoughts to different posts so that we can all share and grow together in the Gospel.
As always, I am always open to new and creative ideas that I can make this blog better, and more interesting to all of you girls, so please feel free to tell me or send me an email with your thoughts.

Hey girls-
Sorry for not blogging last weeks activity. I think I had to much Turkey on Thanksgiving and was a little slow getting back into my normal routine after the holiday. (Or maybe it was due to the fact that I was one of those crazy people who got up at 2:30 in the morning on Black Friday to wait in line and freeze myself to death!) But just wanted to say sorry for all of you who check this to know what's going on with our YW program.
So this week's activity is a little different. We will be meeting at DI on Aurora at 6:30pm Wednesday night. Some of you have done this before, and it is a fun service-filled activity. Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dusty and/or dirty. Your parents will then pick you up
at the church at 8:30pm.
And here's a shout out for Sister Hess- Have you had your Personal Progress Settlement yet? If not, see Sister Hess within the next couple of weeks... she'll get you all sorted out.

Hi Girls! This weeks activity involves bringing your favorite dessert, so don't forget to bring along some goodies to share!

If you are in the Beehive, Miamaid, or Laurel Class Presidencies (includes President, 1st & 2nd Counselors and the Secretary) we will be having a Class Presidency Training Meeting this Saturday November 22 at 10am. Please bring with you your binders. We will be finished by 11:15am, so please inform your parents to pick you up then.
Remember to bring your items to be displayed on the differnt value tables and also that Sunday Dress is to be worn. See you there!
Miamaids and Laurels will be combined this week. Kenedee Malcom will be teaching us how to decorate cakes. Please bring with you one cake. If you have any questions.... give Kenedee a call.
Beehives- Your activity is yet to be decided. Please call Sister Shoda(sp?) for details.
Looking ahead: Young Women in Excellence is on November 12, 2008 at 7pm. Don't forget to prepare a display for one of the value tables. This activity is church dress, and your parents are invited to attend.
Okay, so the title of this post is a throw-back to the musical "The King and I" and also a good beginning to a little self-introduction to all my readers (the Young Women) since I'm still kind of new in the ward. I love music. I don't play an instrument, but I like to sing. When I was a young women, I would participate in the stake and school musicals that were performed where I grew up. I also studied voice in college and got a BA in music. So, yeah, I really like music, and will probably ask you all to be in ward choir a hundred times, or until you say yes, whichever comes first. I grew up a member of the Church, but my parents were converts. I have 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a half-sister and brother. So there is a total of 8 kids. I am 3rd to the youngest. Besides music, I love to read. I'll read pretty much anything as long as it isn't too mushy or vulgar. I am trying to read all the classics I either missed or took for granted in High School and most recently re-read Wuthering Heights. In Fiji, I used to paddle on a 6-man outrigger canoe, and pretty much just having a good-time with my family and friends. I like to travel and have been too a few places, and hope to travel to more in my lifetime. My husband and I hope to someday serve a mission together. I have two kids, Jada who is 5 and a half and Gabe who will be 1 in November. So now you know a little about me, and I hope that I will be able to get to know each of you as well. Good thing I walked by just in time to confirm for Lindsey, that yes, that shirt belongs in the girls section, not the boys.
